About this data. Massachusetts does not license kennels centrally — municipalities do. Ollie's Law, passed in 2024, requires every municipality to report its licensed kennels to the state each year. This is drawn from that collection.

Reporting is still bedding in: 156 municipalities had not filed at the time of release, so a few towns are not yet represented. Each municipality reports in its own wording, which we have normalised for consistency.

Personal kennels are excluded. Massachusetts requires a licence for households keeping four or more dogs, and those records name private individuals at their home addresses. They are not businesses and they are not published here.
